According to the National Coalition for the Homeless, homelessness results from a complex set of circumstances. The Walk a Mile With a Smile: Give Hope to the Homeless events will allow participants to learn about the causes of homelessness, hear testimony from those who have been or are homeless, and offer opportunities to help. Each overnight event will include information gathering, outreach projects, fun activities, worship, and a “Help the Homeless” mini-walk.

In conjunction with Fannie Mae’s “20th Annual Help the Homeless Walkathon”, Wesley Housing and The United Methodist Church are presenting educational programs to create understanding and support for the homeless. Wesley Housing Development Corporation will provide educational content for the overnight programs.
