Wesley Housing Conducts Part One of Resident Survey! Working with volunteers from area churches, GMU graduate student Andrea Morris implemented Phase I of a resident survey designed to get to know the diverse individuals and families who make up Wesley Housing's communities. Information gathered will help Wesley Housing provide relevant programs and services and maintain its affordable rents. Data obtained will also help secure grants from foundations and government agencies. Ms. Morris recruited a core group of volunteers to conduct a sample survey this summer. The group included a statistics teacher and a retired economist who worked on the 2000 Census. Special thanks to survey volunteers Wade and Ann Gregory, Bob Bayer and Rosanne Oliver, and Mike Hansen, Rev. David and Sunita Lough, and Brizna Rolon. And thanks to the Citigroup Foundation for sponsoring Ms. Morris’ summer internship. Andrea is writing her dissertation on local public policies and affordable housing. Phase II of the survey will take place in the spring. If you are interested in serving as a survey volunteer, please call 703/642-3830, ext. 237.
