Programs to Benefit Elderly, Disabled

County officials have announced two programs benefiting Fairfax's growing senior citizen population, as well as people with disabilities.

Wesley Housing Development Corp. has started building an 88-unit housing development near Herndon that will include 66 units for the elderly and 22 for people with disabilities.

The so-called Coppermine Place development was approved last year by county supervisors, who put up part of the financing to encourage more affordable housing for seniors.

Coppermine Place is near McNair Farms Drive and Coppermine Road.
