Resident Services Manager

Position Summary:

Wesley Housing Development Corporation is seeking a full-time  Resident Services Manager for an affordable housing residential community in Middleburg, VA.  The Manager is responsible for the oversight of the resident services programs offered at properties owned by the Windy Hill Foundation.  The Coordinator will provide supervision and direction to the Resident Program Coordinator and will serve as liaison between Wesley Housing Development Corporation and the Windy Hill Foundation and will report to the Director of Resident Services.

Location and Hours:

Middleburg, VA. Monday-Friday 9:00-5:00; Occasional evening and weekend hours. Position is salaried exempt, 45K to 50K.

Special Requirements:

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Must have excellent relationship building, time management, interpersonal, problem solving, communication, networking, and organizational skills. Must be a self-starter and work independently with minimal supervision. 
  • Ability to interact with a diverse population of clients in terms of economic status and cultural background.
  • Experience planning and implementing services in a housing environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other software.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Education,  Human Development, or other related field.
  • MSW preferred.  
  • 2 years staff management experience.
Duties:

  • Assess supportive service needs of individual residents.
  • Develop service plans in collaboration with the residents.
  • Crisis intervention.
  • Offer information/referral to residents for services and programs available.
  • Maintain confidential records regarding individual services provided.
  • Empower the residents to meet their own needs through education, training, and accessing services for themselves.
  • Promote a positive social climate that fosters residents’ psychosocial well-being by developing, implementing, and monitoring educational, recreational, and therapeutic programs for resident participation.
  • Assist Manager of Supportive Services in program development for women, men, children, and families.  Evaluate program success.
  • Assist new residents in the transition to a new apartment, e.g., providing information about local services, transportation, and shopping.
  • Coordinate resident and community volunteers to assist in implementation of activities.
  • Facilitate monthly Resident Council meetings to discuss resident concerns or ideas for programming.
  • Manage a budget for services
  • Participate in community meetings and networking events.
  • Serve as liaison between Agape House and Wesley Housing.
  • Attend and contribute to Agape Board meetings.
  • Participate in monthly staff support. 
  • Volunteer supervision to include interviewing, evaluation, and tracking hours.  
  • Perform administrative functions, including reporting, program assessment, and evaluation. Maintain participation records and progress notes.  Prepare a monthly report and Board reports to include planned activities and services provided, etc. 
  • Create and distribute newsletters and calendars.
  • Report work orders and other property management concerns to the site manager.  
  • Perform minor troubleshooting to maintain the computer equipment and peripherals.
  • Other duties as assigned.
